Hannah has been busy in the gym since Worlds, working on some new skills and is looking forward to spending Christmas at home with the family. She would like to thank everyone for their support this year especially Eileen Langsley, Alan Edwards, Still Sport and also Gymnastic Express. Pictures from the World Championships in Tokyo have been added today so take a look at the photos page. Many thanks once again to Eileen Langsley and Still Sport for the wonderful images.

Also watch out for BGTV on the BG web site as they filmed Hannah and Jenni (Pinches) visiting Rathgael Gymnastics and Tumbling Club in Northern Ireland at the weekend. The girls had a fabulous time and loved every minute. Thank you to everyone at RGTC for such a great weekend!

Hannah returned from the World Championships in Tokyo on Monday with a fantastic set of results. Firstly she helped GB to secure a full team for London 2012 by finishing eighth in the team qualifying competition and advancing to the team finals. The girls then upped their game to finish with with a historic best 5th place in the team finals ahead of Germany Japan and Australia. In the individual all-around competition Hannah gave a suberb clean performance across all 4 pieces to finish in 9th place overall, a huge improvement from last year’s 16th place.
Hannah is absolutely delighted with all the results and will continue working hard towards next year.
Congratulations to Hannah and all the squad, coaches, support staff and British Gymnastics. You have made GB proud!

It’s been a very busy last few weeks of squad training including a return friendly match against Romania and Portugal in the last days before the final selection for Worlds. GB gave a great performance to win the team event followed closely by Romania.
Hannah had a great competition scoring a personal best all-around score of 57.95 and taking individual 1st place with Amelia Racea in 2nd (57.30) and Ana Porgras in bronze (57.05).
Obviously pleased with her performance, Hannah was also delighted to be selected for the World Championships team along with Liverpool team mates Beth Tweddle and Jenni Pinches and fellow GB team members Danusia Francis, Imogen Cairns, Beckie Downie and Laura Edwards. The Team heads out to Tokyo today with competition starting on 7th October.

Hannah has been busy the last 2 weekends with the GB squad with friendly internationals in the preparations for October’s all important World Championships in Tokyo. Last weekend saw Gb v Spain v Portugal in Ipswich where Hannah finished with the top All Around score of 56.00. This week the 2 GB teams travelled to Romania to take part as guests at the Romanian National Championships. After next week the squad will be at Lilleshall for their final preparations including a return friendly with Romania before heading out to Tokyo.

If you missed the film “Gymnast” which was shown on BBC 2 on Saturday 13th, it can be viewed in iPlayer or youtube (title -Gymnast UK gymnastics documentary) It features the GB girls in 2008 in the run up to the Beijing Olympics. It brought back a lot of memories for Hannah and her family and tells the story behind the selection. A wonderful tribute to all the gymnasts, coaches and perents for all their hard work and dedication. A must-see for all gymnastic fans!

Hannah successfully defended her Senior All Around Title at the Womens British Championships this weekend at the Echo Arena in Liverpool. Hannah scored 56.350, ahead of runner up Danusia Francis (53.150) and third place teammate Jenni Pinches (52.850). In the apparatus finals Hannah added two silver medals (bars and beam) to her collection.The City of Liverpool had a fantastic weekend with numerous medals and titles for her teammates across the Espoirs Juniors and Seniors! Well done to Beth, Jenni, Rebecca, Sophie, Abi, Megan and Georgina and of course to coaches Claire and Amanda!
Now time for a short break before preparation for the Worlds in Tokyo.

Hannah is 19 today. Happy Birthday Han! Wishing you a fantastic day although of course there won’t be much time for celebrating with the British Championships next weekend!
Yesterday, Hannah did a media session at the Echo Arena prior to the event. She ended up on the Echo Wheel which was eventful as she is afraid of heights!! Check it out at the British Gymnastics web site (click on the links page.)
There is also a cute pic of Hannah in 2008 which is appearing in the Olympic Portraits Exhibition on 5th July in London. The portraits are featured in the Telegraph at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/olympics/picturegalleries. There are some great portraits of many well known athletes as well as 2012 hopefulls

A new album from the British Team Championships has been added to the photos page today courtesy of BC Gymphotos.
Also, Hannah would like to say thank you for the invitation to speak at her old school, Bramhall High last week. She really enjoyed talking to the students and the local primary school visitors and was also pleased to catch up with some of her old teachers. Hopefully the schools can follow her progress and support her as she works towards the 2012 London Olympics.
